Second physical COP meeting after “”Save the Baltic Sea” event
On 29 April Plast Center Denmark attended to the event “Save the Baltic Sea” at The Blue Planet in Copenhagen.
At the event the project Circular Ocean-bound Plastic (COP) was shortly presented followed by presentations of “Save the Baltic Sea” hiking expedition, which is a 9-month long and 6000 km expedition to raise awareness and do educational activities.
Presentations from key speakers; Søren Laurentius Nielsen from Ocean Institute about the marine pollution and the eco system, Yvonne Shashoua from National Museum of Denmark about plastics in marine environments and Isabel Aagaard from LastObject about substitutions to single-use plastic products.
At the end of the event there was a panel discussion with Lars Fogh Mortensen (EP Candidate, Radikale Venstre), Gittemarie Johansen (Public speaker and sustainability expert), Thomas Drustrup (Managing director, The Danish Plastics Federation) and Isabel Aagaard (Co-founder, LastObject) followed by a guided tour in the National Aquarium Denmark.
After this exciting event, the COP partners headed to CLEAN’s office for a second physical COP meeting about the work packages. It was an effective meeting about expectations from partners in the work packages.
